Greetings and Welcome to Poohat Pictures!

There are more details about myself and the company in the "About Us" page, but I thought I would say a few words here.

All of the photography you will see here was taken within the confines of Conservation Areas along The Niagara Escarpment, or along The Bruce Trail.  Most are right in my own backyard here in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, Earth. The photos are reduced, so appear nowhere near the quality of the finished product.

I am an advocate for preservation and conservation of this World Biosphere and its wildlife. I want to do everything I can to protect what has become my own personal refuge.

Last year I have spent the entire season with a venue of Turkey Vultures at Mount Nemo and hope to soon produce a book of photography and information on these kinda ugly but graceful and playful birds.

Please enjoy the photographs, and if you are interested in purchasing high quality photographic prints, please contact me. Most of these photos can be enlarged to make a big impact on any room.

I will be updating and adding photos as I work on this site, but in the meantime if you would like a more comprehensive look into my range, you can view over 200 samples of my photography at:

I am also the author of
The Cookbook For Men Whose Wives Don't Cook, a hilarious cookbook for anyone who is a dumbass in the kitchen. Check out the link to the cookbook page for more information. Keep an eye out for my new book The Turkey Vultures of Mount Nemo.

Thanks for your interest, sign the guestbook and say "Hi", and spend some time with the wildlife in your local Conservation Area. See what you're missing!

Authority

This fawn was born in the Dundas Valley Conservation Area.
The photo appeared in the Hamilton Spectator May 16, 2008.

Fawns are born without scent. The mother leaves the fawn alone for a day or two, returning to feed when required, until the fawn can walk.
This way the deer's scent does not transfer to the fawn, making it untraceable to predators.

If you come across a fawn, it is not abandoned. The nother will be nearby. Please do not disturb newborns.

Some of these photos can be seen on Cogeco 23 Public Service Announcements with Photo Gallery.

Professional prints available for sale.
