The Trillium is Ontario's flower. It is illegal to pick them or transplant them or really do anything to them except look, smell, and take pictures. I look forward every May to their return. They come out once a year in early May and stay less than a month. You can find them along any wooded trail in any of the conservation areas. The flower starts its life with pure white petals, turning pink and purple as the month goes on. I have run across only one Red Trillium in my adventures, but the light sucked so I couldn't get a shot. Enjoy. |
